I always feel everything in my dreams, if I'm dreaming that I'm eating something I feel myself chewing and swallowing and if I dream that I'm fighting it hurts when I get punched. How can the body feel things that aren't actually happening to it?
I remember dreaming that I was eating a hot dog and that the hot dog turned into a metal bar and I remember exactly how it felt trying to chew on that metal and feeling that cold metal in my mouth. And sometimes when I'm having asexual dream (this is awkward but whatever), I wake up because I'm moaning so loudly and I can still feel myself having an orgasm when I've woken up, even though I'm not even touching myself. It's the same feeling down there as it is when I've had sex in real life. :S

Is it that the nerves are actually working while people are sleeping? Because I know I'm not imagining it if I can still feel the "consequences" of the pain/pleasure in my dreams when I've woken up.
