Thread: How can Jesus be the Messiah if he never fulfilled all the prophecies?

Christians counter that Jesus will fulfill those remaining with his Second Coming, but Jewish sources show that the Messiah will fulfill the prophecies outright; in the Bible no concept of a second coming exists.

The Messiah must be descended on his father's side from King David (see Genesis 49:10, Isaiah 11:1, Jeremiah 23:5, 33:17; Ezekiel 34:23-24). According to the Christian claim that Jesus was the product of a virgin birth, he had no father -- and thus could not have possibly fulfilled the messianic requirement of being descended on his father's side from King David. (2)

The idea is to interpret an event in such a way that you can claim that it happened to fulfil a particular prophecy, however tenuous the connection. Or however impossible it might be that the author of the original prophecy could have meant that interpretation.

He has fulfilled many and some are yet to come. List one bravely.

Which prophecies are you referring to? I personally have studied the prophecies concerning the Messiah and have found them all to be fulfilled by Jesus Christ.

Maybe you've misinterpeted the prophecies, their implications and meanings. The scribes and pharisees sure did.

The prophecies in the Bible to not have to be completed in order. So if Jesus didn't perform a prophecy before; doesn't mean he will not complete it later during his second coming.

He's the messiah anyone who can ressurect themselves is alright in my book.

Name which ones he has not. And don't mention the ones that are SUPPOSED to come later.
