Thread: how can i tell if i will develop schizophrenia in the future?

It's not in my family or anything, it's just that I just watched A Beautiful Mind and am somewhat of a hypochondriac.

Basically, I'm 18, so I would be experiencing few, if any symptoms of the disorder. I just wanted to know what I could look for so I could freak out about it and believe I'm starting to go schizophrenic. =D

-I do talk talk to myself sometimes, but it's to myself.
-I don't hear voices or see people or think I'm Jesus, but I can get a little paranoid at times.

No one can tell if you are going to experience a schizophrenic attack because medical science does not know what causes schizophrenia. It is entirely up to chance. By your description you have no symptoms of the disorder and are only jeopardizing your health by worrying about it.

I'm pretty sure you're okay. The chances aren't high. I hear voices, I'd say my chances are pretty high :P
