Thread: In the future when cannabis is legal, will it be an issue if a President

Cannabis was not illegal until around 1930. We have had only a handful of presidents born since then. If presidents born before then smoked it, I seems not to have been a campaign issue. Of course, the issue is not whether someone used cannabis or not. The issue is whether someone did something illegal. So if in the future cannabis is legal and someone smoked it, I doubt it would be an issue.

smokes as if one were drinking wine? Imagine that in the future it has been a few decades since marijuana has been legalized. It is used like alcohol. Other than George W. Bush, most other Presidents have drank alcohol moderately. So do you think it would be an issue in the future if a President smoked cannabis?

Well yes. Just look at the scrutiny Obama has gotten just because he smokes regular tobacco.

Drinking wine is considered "classy", while smoking cannabis doesn't promote a very positive image.
