Thread: As a future army wife how soon/how much/how do you get BAH, insurance, etc?

My husband is joining the army, he will ship off to bootcamp probably in early November of 08 - we have a baby on the way and I've heard different stories on how the army works. I'm wondering do they set you up with BAH, BAS & insurance (Tricare) or do you have to do that on your own? And when you get the BAH does the come ontop of the paycheck or part of it?

I will find out more from the recruiter - but I was just wondering what others have been through?

Your husband will have to fill out some paperwork and then he will get BAH, BAS, Tricare etc...

The recruiter will help y'all out and answer every question you can possibly come up with.

By the way, be patient with all the paperwork.
