dreams about dead family members?

my father passed away 13 yrs ago when i was 12 and i have had a few dreams in the past few weeks with him in it asking me about my daughter who is 5 and we have a regular conversation in these dreams. also my daughter will tell me stories about how when i was a little girl she would hold my hand as we walked across the street, how could she possibly know these things? any information would be good on how i could interpret these dreams
