Could polarizing news talk be used as a defense, in a trial involving

some future political assassination ? I hear a lot of mean words exchanged a radio talk shows. I am certain the hosts, currently, take no responsibility for what they say, vis a vis their listeners actions. However, when the shite hits the fan(and you know it will), how will some smart aggressive lawyer play it out? And will he/she succeed in making said hosts accountable for their words?

I doubt they can hold the hosts accountable. It's something that comes up now and then. Like the woman who died in a water drinking competition for a Wii game set. The radio DJs weren't fired or arrested. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article1293202.ece

I seriously doubt their "free speech" could be used against any radio host, since they technically are not responsible for what listeners do in response to their inflammatory remarks. The only thing that curtails free speech is threats of bodily harm and slander. As long as they don't cross that line, they're safe.
