Thread: Boyfriend makes jokes about the future could he be serious?

I have been dating this guy for about 3 months now. We had been friends for over a year before we started dating so we already knew each other pretty well. We have a great time together and he always tells me how much he likes me. He said when we started dating that he doesn't like it when a girl trys to get serious too fast but he has been bringing up the future alot lately. He always says it in a joking way but I am wondering if he is half serious. He has been saying things like "when he moves in with me" or that he is going to tell my kids they have a new dad. I know he is joking about that just to give me a hard time because I was so cautious about him spending time with my kids but I have never met a guy that makes a joke about commitment with a girl he has no interest in having a future with. Am I overanalyzing his joking or does this mean he is testing me for my reaction?

i think he is probably testing you for your reaction, unless he made jokes like this before you were dating
