What are your predictions for this mid-week set of games? Here's mine:
Stoke City 1 - 2 Birmingham City
Tottenham 2 - 0 Sunderland
Aston Villa 1 - 1 Blackpool
Chelsea FC 2 - 0 Fulham
Newcastle 3 - 0 Blackburn
West Ham 0 - 1 WBA
Wigan 1 - 3 Liverpool
Everton 0 - 0 Bolton
Manchester City 2 - 1 Manchester United
Wolves 0 - 3 Arsenal
For those who care, reasoning:
Birmingham haven't won away this season, and I think they've played reasonably in the past few weeks, so I think it's time they got that win.
Sunderland only just beat Stoke - the game would have changed a lot if the referee had seen Cattermole's game-changing handball. I can't see them managing to see off Tottenham, who were unlucky in their 4-2 defeat to Bolton.
I don't doubt Villa, yet I don't doubt Blackpool. The newcomers have exceeded expectations for the second season so far, and I believe they can snatch a point from the Villians.
It's Chelsea - they've not lost nor conceded at home, and I don't see Fulham being the first to score there. This derby is also over-shadowed.
Newcastle have been in excellent form recently, having an excellent derby win, and then going to the Emirates and winning. They can easily see off Blackburn.
West Ham haven't been playing their best, and West Brom will give it there all. I can see them going home with all three points.
Everton haven't been at their best, and although Bolton will be optimistic, I need a goalless draw in this bunch.
Here we are, the greatest game in the BPL. City will be boosted with the return of Tevez, even though they are missing Balotelli. The Reds, however, are missing many of their top-performers, including Nani. I think that this derby will end in a result the Citizens will be delighted with.
Arsenal will be looking to recover after a home defeat, and I don't see Wolves even snatching a draw.
And what do you think?
@mo (cfc)~ Fulham are one of Chelsea's biggest rivals, due to location. Though, the derby's lost as much excitement as it once had.
