    Essential Sports Bike Gear?

    im going to get i bike for mt Ls soon and was just wondering what gear you would say is completely nessecary, for example gloves and boots? would like to be able to wear my own shoes but i may not be aware of the risks

    Helmet, don't mess around, get full face. Top dollar doesn't mean top quality.
    You want DOT approved or the latest Snell approved (the year will be on a Snell approved)

    Gloves are cheap insurance. Joe Rockets are good, I had Icons wouldn't buy them again,had 1st Gear also a "no buy" rating.
    Just be sure the have knuckle protection and are something you will wear.

    Boots, yes, but don't go crazy. Alpinestars or H-D boots get pricey quick. You want oil resistant, non skid soles at least 6 inches high.
