Easier/Cheaper to buy or make a Fixed Gear Bike?

Hi, i just started riding a bit with some of my friends and it's pretty fun. i'm capable of skidding and stopping great but i don't know if i should buy a complete bike or make one, as well as if its cheaper to make or to buy a complete.

I'm 5'9" about 150lbs and would like to know if somebody could help me out with my problem as well as what i should be riding.
(any external websites to help me out would be great too)
