Have you heard about stun gun misuse in America?

A few stories have filtered down from Canada about RCMP and local police using stun guns to kill or seriously injure unruly citizens. One case out of BC involved the death of a well-qualified Polish man who was visiting his mother and intended to work in Canada. Because of delays at Customs and a language problem, he apparently became angry and confused, resulting in an embarrassing international incident, with the government of Poland demanding an explanation for this excessive use of force. Since the United States is even a larger police state, there must be lots of similar occurrences here, right?

As long as you mind your own business and act like a law abiding citizen, you do not have to worry about the misuse of a stun gun. People who act like th Polish man becoming angry and causing a disturbance in an airport is not going to be tolerated there or any place else. I have lived quite a few years on this earth, and I have had encountered police during a stop. I have never had a stun gun used on me because I know that causing a disturbance would be a bad decision on my part.

They are taking peoples free will. Like if it is to hard to understand, the stun gun is not the answer. What about caring for people.Hope the guy sued the backsides off them.

IN this post 9/11 era, you simply can't go bezerk in an airport and not expect to be blown away. If this happened in the USA, it wouldn't even be news. There wasn't any excessive force. Maybe the guy, when he saw the cops surrounding him should have cooperated??

No. Over 97 percent of police contacts in the United States involve no use of force at all.

The problem is, you never hear about that, because it is boring and not newsworthy. You only hear about the very few instances where the taser is used.

I don't know what you consider "misuse", but I can tell you every single video I've seen starts out with some argumentative subject who ignores the police when they give a lawful order.

I also do not see where you consider the BC instance "excessive force". The Polish man was yelling, throwing chairs, and causing a disturbance. You can not blame the RCMP for the language barrier. All they were doing was to try and restore order. It is a shame that he died, however, I suspect when the autopsy comes out, you will see he had some medical condition that was complicated by the tantrum he threw.
