I got my rabbit eleven days ago and I am using wood shavings for his bedding. I also put a heap of meadow hay in one corner which he flattens down and lies on, its really there for him to eat. I have since that wood shavings is not good to use for rabbits bedding - something to do with respiratory problems I think!
Is this true? Should I stop using wood shavings and just use hay as the bedding? I was told to use wood shavings as otherwise they will go and eat the hay and its meant to be their bedding. The wood shavings is 100% pine wood shavings that I am using. I prefer using wood shavings as its easier to clean, looks nicer and as well the rabbit seems to prefer them too.

What should I do? Are they really bad for them?

Oh and hes not litter trained.. yet!
