why does my betta change colors (decrease)?

My betta fish was a bright vibrant blue when I got it a month ago and then it doesn't want to eat and the color has faded and is not as vibrant.

Make sure your changing the water enough.

That also happened to my fish before he died. Keep in mind that your fish might be older that you think it is, Petco and Petsmart often have older bettas for sale.

As for the not eating factor try giving it blood worms which can be found frozen at almost any pet store. I hear bettas really enjoy eating them.

    Good luck!
