After some research and an answered question, I want to release my painted turtle into the wild. It's obviously afraid of anyone that goes near it, and it won't eat the foods that we prepared for it, even though I'm sure that they do eat those kinds of foods (Shredded carrots, lettuce...).
Anyways, I found it in my pool sweeper 2 days ago and I'm afraid if i keep him too long and he doesn't eat, he'll die.
So, where should I release him?
-I live in New Orleans, Louisiana
-Lake Pontchartrain is too salty of an environment (I think)
-Would the canal be okay?
-I frequently see turtles basking in the water near my uncle's house (near the canal).
-I need a quick answer before the turtle dies of starvation T-T.
Well, please answer quickly so I can return him to the wild as soon as possible. Thanks ( : !
