American Pitbull Terrier making a "dry, hacking", type cough?

I have a 2 1/2 year old female, pure bred blue-nosed APT. She's 65 lbs, always been very healthy, current on all vaccines, we give her a heart worm pill every month & she suddenly has been having this dry, hacking cough that started this weekend. Her parents never had any serious conditions and we haven't taken her to the dog park in a few months. She hasn't been to any vet offices, groomers, or anything which would include other dogs or animals. She's been drinking water and her coat's elasticity seems to be normal. We also have 2 other American Pits that are showing no similar symptoms. She has had a slight dis-intrest in her food but she's still energetic and seems to be normal. She has a vet appt. on Friday but I was wondering if anybody had a dog with similar symptoms? Or even might know what it is? I have done a little research on it but it could be anything! I'm hoping it's just allergies but she has never had this before! Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like a common cold to me, but could also be allergies.

My 3 boxers all got the same cold this past winter, about a week apart from each other. Hacking cough, runny nose, slightly less active, but other than that didn't seem to affect them.... it lasted less than a week for each one. As soon as one would start to improve, the next one would catch it =P
