Help.....my new mother cat has stopped nursing & is trying to move her kittens

after only 6 days.? My cat is 1 yr. old. She just had her first litter (of 4) last Sunday. Since delivery, she has been content with them in a laundry basket that I put in the back corner of my bdrm. closet.

Today they are only 6 dys. old. She went outside today for the first time since she delivered them. She was gone for a pretty good while. I found this out of the ordinary since she hasn't left their side at all.

Every since she came back in she will not stay laying down to let them nurse. Both her & the kittens are "panting" VERY heavily (like a dog that's been running). She ate her food that we gave her, but she will not drink her milk. She keeps trying to take them out of the laundry basket & move them under one of my chest of drawers. If she moves them under there, then we cannot get to them or see them to make sure that they are safe. We also will not know if she is feeding them. I cannot lock her & them in the closet because there is no air vent in there. I'm scared!!

She might of run out of milk. It happends. And probly because shes just like a kitten her self. And you dont give cats milk all the time. Its water.Cats like to have their privacy. Try it and just go and check every so often on her and the kitten. If ur still worried, Call your local vet and constal with him/her and tell them what has been happning. You just might have to bottle feed the kitten.
