My 13 week old puppy has been undergoing treatment for parvovirus for 5 days now. She is recovering, but I still have a few questions for anyone who has gone through this. She is playful, wags her tail, walks around, eats, and drinks on her own. The problem is, after every meal she vomits. I'm only feeding her baby food in tablespoon amounts. She can hold it down for 1-5 hours before it comes back up. She just started eating again last night. She is on anti-nausea medication, and I called the vet's office. The vet tech said she's still sick, ect. The only thing that concerns me is that she hasn't pooped today. I've read that puppies with parvo often get intestinal torsions as a complication. Do puppies recovering from parvo ever not poop for a day? Are there other symptoms of intestinal torsion I should look for? When do they start to hold down food for longer than a few hours? Thanks in advance to those of you with info on parvo survivors!
Before anyone lectures, yes she had her shots. No I didn't take her anywhere. We are responsible and love our pets. We figure the people who owned the house before us may have had a dog with parvo, as we've only lived here 7 months.
