an aquaintance of mine has a russian torotise, for about a year now, and about 2 months ago stopped eating. i gave her a list of vets (even ones my store uses) but no one will take it in (they say they take reptiles but no tortoises, even the one my tortoises sees from the store wont take in individually owned ones, which i dont understand but let me go on.). so she gave me some info on it, and i think it sounds like it went into a false hibernation. ive asked her about the heat and uvb light and theyre all good. right now shes been soaking it in warm water everyday, so it doesnt get too dehydrated, and she said on our nice days, she takes it outside in the sun, and it does great, very active ect. but when it returns to the cage it looks lethargic again. i have since found some numbers for vets about 5-6 hours from where we live that she is gonna try out, but for the time being is there anything she can do to get it out of this hibernation? any suggestions?
