    My flowerhorn is shy?

    I just bought a flowerhorn from my friends house..at his house it was swimming around eating,being free..but now when i put it in my tank its just sitting there..not eating...does anyone know whats wrong with it?? here are some pics of it when it was at my friends house:

    its only moving a little.most of time its just laying there...

    There's probably nothing wrong with it. Cichlids like these take time to get used to big changes, like an entirely new home and owner (yes, he can see and recognize the difference between you and your friend.)

    Have patience and leave him alone to get used to things. If he doesn't eat, remove the food and try again the next day - it takes weeks, if not months, to starve a fish. He'll come around soon enough.

    In the mean time, keep an eye on your ammonia levels just in case, especially if your tan wasn't cycled first.
