My cat is driving me INSANE!! Help!?

Everyday when I come home from school, Skittles (one of my cats) has been all over the couch. I know for a fact that it is him and not Shadow because Skittles' fur is white and my other cats fur is black. My mom doesn't want him on the couch so I have to smack him and yell at him/ put him in his kennel when I come home. He does this everyday when he KNOWS he's not supposed to be on there! He's even hiding is his little kennel because he knows whats coming. It depresses me to come home 5 days a week and have to smack my cat because he's been on the couch. My other cat Shadow has learned not to be on the couch so I know that it is not him, plus he is sleeping in his kennel (unlocked) when I come home. This is driving me nuts. I don't want to make spanking my cat a ritual after school. What should I do?

    Thank you so much
OMFG, my MOM has me smack the cat! It's not like I LOVE smacking him!! That's why I am asking this question, to get INTELLIGENT answers not dumbshit ones!
There are tons of places for my cats to lay. We have a huge window where the sun comes in on the carpet and they bask.

My mom doesn't want the couch to have fur on it or "cat butt" she thinks it's dirty.

Cats like furniture, teaching them to stay away may be hard, would your mom agree to simply buying a cover, or you cleaning the couch every few hours, I mean it's just hair! not ink or something that doesn't come out.

If she really won't budge I suggest you get a cat alarm, they sell it at any petco and many petshops and what they do is when the cat goes to a place it shouldn't be it emits a high pitch and scares him/her off, eventually they will learn to stay away OR the sound will go off, it may be a bit cruel but it works, I used it with my kitten so she would stay away from my hot oven but that was just for safety reasons not that I mind.

P.S: DON'T EVER smack your cat, it is cruel, unecesary and very mean, Plus unless you catch her in the act she will have no idea why you are hitting her!!!!!!

First off, you really shouldn't be smacking your cat. Keep a spray bottle of water near the couch and every time he gets on the couch, spray him. He will learn soon enough that being on the couch is not allowed.

You could also put a towel down on the spot he frequents so the hair ends up on the towel and not the couch.
