Travel to a QH track, and look for horses that end last, or sometimes you will hear an owner shout out a price for horse. But honestly, your best bet is to go to a track, look at a horse has consistently, not done well, or an good one, that is getting up there in the years.

Hi, I live in northeastern Ohio and I am looking for an off the track quarter horse to start on barrels. I would like a decent speed rating, also. Because my location kinda stinks for quarter horse racing, how is the best way to go about finding a retired quarter horse from the track? I am experienced (been riding for 20 years now) but I have no idea how to go about looking for this type of race horse.
