I need help with my cat...?

Okay, so I recently got a maine coon I think shes about 8-9 months old. Shes obviously got long fur and everything but she gets poop spots EVERYWHERE. Theres smeared poop on my counters and floors and stuff and I need help with this problem :c My mom is starting to get really frustrated and Im starting to stress over it as well.. We decided to switch her food from Meow Mix to Purina One Sensitive Stomach stuff and were going to go get her professionally groomed this weekend and get her butt trimmed.. Im sorry for the graphic-ness but I really need help, is there anything else I can do about this?

If the cat has unusually soft stools she may need to see a vet. Otherwise all I can really suggest is keeping her back end trimmed up so it doesn't get in her fur.
