Thread: How do I keep my dog from scratching the door when I leave the house?

My 6 year old min pin mix has majorly scratched up the front door of my house. I know it's separation anxiety. When I show him the scratched area he crouches down like he knows he did something bad. But then the next day there are more.

Protect the bottom of your door with a plexi screen. Then spend hours training him, with a partner standing on his side of the door. Google the Dog Whisperer, he treats this behavior a lot of the time.

Crate him while you are out.. that way he can not harm himself, or your furniture!
