Thread: How can you tell if your cats been neutered or spayed?

Does anybody now how to tell if a female cat has been neutered or spayed? What should I look or feel for?

well, females get spayed males get neutered. the only way to tell if a female has been spayed is to take it to the vet and they can shave her abdomen and see if there is a scar there.

Spayed is for the girls, neutered is for the boys. The boy's "sacks" will feel empty. The girls *might* have some scar tissue in a line down the belly. They also will not go into heat.

If its a boy, their testicles won't be there anymore, just the skin/fur but nothing inside. You can probably tell by feeling, sounds perverted but only way to tell. And for a female, you have to shave a few inches in the middle of her lower belly/abdomen. You might see a scar that runs up and down and is a few inches long. Or if there is no scar, there might be scar tissue in that area that you can feel. With my cat, the vet couldn't tell if she had been spayed, and he said its hard to tell sometimes. I didn't know that she wasn't spayed until she went into heat. I just had it done a few days ago.
