I have had a chicken coop for just under two years. I have a rooster and three chickens. The rooster is very old, I got him from a friend who moved interstate. The oldest chicken is two and the others are about a year old.

The three chickens have started attacking the rooster. He has two bald patches on him and I am scared they will eventually kill him. I have seperated them for the mean time.

I have heard that once this happens you need to kill all the chickens. Is this true? Is there any way to stop them attacking him? If I get rid of the rooster will the chickens be alright?
