Ok. I just found out that my mother-in-law has been giving our dog TWO hotdogs a DAY, because he's afraid he's not eating enough.
He's a sheppard-newfie-rotweiler cross and he started eating less as he went from puppy to adult. The vet said that they may not eat as much because of the breed, and since he started eating less, my mother-in-law thinks that he's going to die, (even though he has NEVER shown signs of getting sick like he's going to die, and I SEE him eat all the time). I think he usually only eats about one bowl a day, but we have the food out for him at all times, and he just doesn't touch it until he wants to.

I had no idea my mother-in-law was doing this and my finacee told me that it's been going on for months. Is that healthy for a dog?! I know they can and will eat anything, but maybe this explains why sometimes when I take him to poo, I can barely pick it up in the bag because it's too soft.

Is this ok?
