getting rid of rhodesian ridgeback mix?

I have a year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, that I adopted a month ago. He is truely a wonderful dog. He is gentle, listens (most times) doesn't chew, and has never messed in the house. He is just amazing with my 7 year old son. The only problem is time, I work long shifts, week on week off...I am gone 14 hours at a time. My son is at his dads house at this time, and no one can let the dog out. I do come home in the middle of my shift and let him out, but it doesn't seem fair to this wonderful dog. My neighbor's mom will take him, she is at home all day, and would love him. What do you think...just looking for opinions please...should I keep him or not? Thanks in advance

I would keep a wonderful dog like that. You adopted him. He's yours for life. Find a sitter. Or you can ask your mom's neighbor to be an all day sitter. Drop him off there before work.
