can hens protect themselves from cats, if there are 3 or more?

will hens be albe to protect themselves, do they fight back, one of mine(hens) seems to be very aggresive and even killed a bird trying to eat some of their food

I don't see cats go after full grown chickens very often, just chicks. If the cat really wanted to eat/kill the hen, then it most certainly could.

Well, I wouldnt recommend putting cats outside or anything because if the hen killed a bird it could hurt the cat. I think most deffinatly they would defend themselves. A fox came and the 2 hens i have pecked at his eyes and scratched and the fox ran away. So I think they'll be fine, yet i dont know about the cat(s).
