are boxers good with kids and are they very destructive?

I really want to get my kids a dog. i love boxers, but are not sure if they are good with kids. any suggestions on what kind of dogs are excellent with a 4 year old and a 3 year old. we have a large fenced yard. should i get a puppy or older dog?
