    Which is Better For Cycling?

I'm going to go out next week and buy a 30 liter kit for a Betta fish. Naturally, I need to cycle the aquarium first. =)

Would Prawns in pantyhose work better than fish food?

And is it recommended to use this method even though I would have cycled media already in the filtration?

I don't believe in using fish to cycle and aquarium. It's disgustingly cruel and takes way too long.
