Kinda depends on the dog breed a little bit.

I would say the best treat is interaction and playing with them.

Teach them tricks, play fetch, get them to catch a frisbee if they are that big, etc... The dog is not just there he/she is your friend so play with them and they will love you.

Other than that a bone with meat still on it...
