    any ideas?

i had bred my akita ***** for the second time and she is currently in her 52nd days of pregnancy, her pups she had 2yrs ago she started labour on her 53rd day and delivered 54th day, her puppies were vet checked within 5 hrs of birth and were all perfect size, weight, health etc, i did not do her temp last time but i have decided to give it a go this time to see the outcome, im in contact with an experianced breeder but she does not use the temp method so thought id ask you guys, ive been taking her temp morn, noon and night and here are the findings,
    25th apr-100.22-100.04-100.04
    26th -100.22-100.22-100.4
    27th-99.86-99.86-100.04- late night-99.86
    28th-100.22-99.5-100.22
    29th-99.32-100.04-100.04
    30th-99.14-99.86-100.4

    this morning 100.22
i had her at the vet on 28th and hes really happy with everything, the pups are moving happily, shes eating, shes not interested in the welping box and shes not milking, the only thing is shes losing a clear non smelling discharge.
p.s my vet said it is normal for a large dog to deliver pups quite early if shes carring a large litter.

Her temperature seems normal at the moment - take 100 degrees as about average for a pregnant dog - it quite often runs a little lower than the standard 102. You need to see a drop of down to around 97.5 - 98 degrees to suspect that labour is imminent - once this drop occurs you can expect the puppies to start arriving within 24 hours.

Checking twice a day is very sensible - I'd check morning and late afternoon, but not do more than that. Have her mammary glands swollen dramatically in the last day or so? That can also be a good sign. Not sure about the clear discharge, but the fact that it is clear and not smelly is good - I'd prob. ring the vet for advice on this as I haven't come across it before, personally speaking.
