    Will a Sprint BlackBerry Tour 9630 Smartphone work in a non 3g area?

    i want to get a blackberry and i like this one the most, will i bea able to get reception in a non 3g area? if so will i be able to make calls? any help will be good. please help if you can thanks

    absolutely, 3g is just for faster data use; its a feature on phones that only effects itself. if 3g phones only worked in 3g areas, then no one would buy them. the only advantage of getting reception in a 3g area is faster data speed, and the only disadvantage of getting reception in a non-3g area is regular data speed.
