Thread: Will i lose my unlimited text if i buy a smartphone with the data plan?

i'm getting the samsung omnia pretty soon and i was wondering what will happen to my unlimited text when i buy the data plan. i know the omnia won't work if i don't buy the data plan.
also, how much does the data plan cost?
does the cheapest data plan have unlimited text? i'm a crazy texter by the way.
i also use verizon if that helps.

please give lots of information about data plans and how they work and cost.

The data plan and texting are two different parts of your plan with Verizon. In general the cheapest verizon data plan is $25/month but for $5 more you get unlimited data. Notice however data does not include text messaging. In addition to your data plan you will have to pay whatever the current rate is for unlimited texting ($15 or $20) I believe.
