By stand alone PC I assume you mean desktop...

A stand alone PC is just that. A standard computer meant for general home or business use. They can be modified or tailored for more specialized purposes such as gaming, content creation or media playback, but they all retain similar architecture. Anyone can build a standard PC with off-the-shelf parts that are readily available. Costs for building a generic PC yourself start at around $250, depending on sale prices and such. There is no upper price limit. There is always a more expensive part to be had. Dell, HP and Acer are just a few of the manufacturers that make standard PCs. The pricing starts at around $400.

An Apple PC is Apples spin on the personal computer. As with all things Apple, they control the entire experience from user interface to chassis color. You will pay a premium for an Apple computer over a similarly equipped Windows PC. Build quality on Apple computers is usually excellent, but they do have occasional flaws. Apple generally has stellar customer service as well. You cannot build an Apple PC yourself. The parts are not made available and Apple restricts third-party development. However, it is possible to build a standard PC to your specifications and then install OS X on it, which is Apple's own operating system. It's also possible to install Windows on any Intel processor-based Apple computer

A server is a PC designed with only one purpose, and that is to store data and make it available to anyone that has access to it. Reasons someone may want a server instead of storing the files locally are numerous. However, the biggest reasons are that multiple users will need access to the files, backup and security. Reliability and speed are huge factors when determining which server to buy.

A PDA is a Personal Digital Assistant. It's a handheld device with limited computing power, but has the ability to store and view some files wherever you are. You can also manipulate Excel and Word documents and such while out of the office. Some have the ability to get email and browse the Internet too.

A standalone PC is a personal computer usually a desktop or a laptop. A server is like a computer but is used specifically to store and allow networks to connect or access shared information. a PDA stands for Personal Digital Assistant, which usually has a messaging center, calendar and different apps to help a business person get organized. A PDA is a palm help computer and now you can purchase phones with all the capabilities of a PDA.
