verizon PDA's and smartphone data plan?

So I have been looking at some verizon phones and all of the current smart phones require a data plan to function. There are 3 older models that work without the data plan. Does anyone know which 3 smart phones and or blackberry phones that do not need a data plan purchase to work?

Sorry all smart phone regardless of age need a data plan. Back then you were able to get away by going PAY AS YOU GO data plan which all you had todo is change the # which it dial from 777 to any number so it would never connect to data over verizon which resulted with no data charges. But now you have to get it and it $30.

My understanding is that only new PDA’s/Smartphones devices launched on or after November 14th, 2008 will require data/feature plan of $29.99 or more - so for example you should be able to get the Pearl 8130 (launched November 1, 2008) without a data plan.
