Is there a way to use your smartphone functions in a foreign country w/o the

phone accessing towers? I am going to Mexico. I have a smartphone (HTC Touch Pro) with various features I want to use (calendar, address book, camera) while there. My particular company (Cellular South) charges $1 a minute plus $3 day for use of the Mexico cell system. The thought is to just turn the phone off before you get into Mexico to keep from having charges. I don't want to make calls, I just want to have my "phone" on for use of the features mentioned above. Anybody know how to do that?
