Is there a way to block internet usage from a smartphone?

I have a Verizon Wireless Motorola Q that uses CDMA.

I do not have the money to pay for the data plan and I do not want to pay 15 cents per KB.

Is there a way to block the phones internet usage?

If not, any tips on how to avoid using the internet.

there really isn't a way to block it
you could probably ask your cell phone service provider about it so they could see what they can do about it, i hear they can stop you from using the internet, because my friend was doing this and his parents stopped him from using the internet by talking to the provider.

the easiest way is to just call Customer care and have they block the IP. you can also block it off the device by going to settings, connections (bottom taps) and select networks connections and just delete it or adjust to something different so that it will not be able to log ur username on.
