I had my daughter 15 weeks premature due to severe preeclampsia and partial placental abruption. She is stable but the doctors want to check her for PDA as she has a heart murmur.

I know that many cases most of them close on thier own with time to do so, and I know that most cases can be treated with medication. But what I don't know is what percent of preemis end up having heart surgeory, and how well they do?

My daughter was born at 25 6/7 weeks gestation and weighed 1 pound and 3.4 oz. The nurses are impressed at how "fiesty" she is for her size. I just want to know what I may expect if the hole is too big to be fixed with meds and needs suregory. Any experiences that anyone has had, please share...
