iPhone 3G "No Sim card installed" with i-smartphone. Worked earlier?

i have an iphone 3g that i was using for t mobile with a i-smartphone sim adapter on firmware 2.2.1 and i took it out of my phone. then i put it back in and now it says no sim. i think the copper contacts might not be touching or something but im in desperate need of help
