if i buy a smartphone, how much does it cost per month?

my upgrade is up and i want a smartphone. I'm just not sure about the price. it may be too much to handle with other things that i need to pay right now. IF i buy a smartphone, is there somethign to disable the internet? i know your probably thinking " the smartphone is for internet use!" but i really need a reliable phone with work but the internet isn't necessary.

If i do get a smartphone it would be either:
    Samsung Saga
    Samsung Omnia
    Blackberry Pearl Flip
    HTC Driod Ericson
    HTC Ozone

    which one do you reccommend.
    open for other suggestions! (:

    please respond, thanks!

I know with ATT you have to pay 30 dollars a month for a data plan and it depends on how many talk minutes you want as well. That data plan is not unlimited for everything so you will end up paying more if you want to use the internet all of the time or do unlimited text or something like that. You can call ATT and ask them to stop the internet usage after you have reached so many MBs

Verizon requires the $30/month data plan with all smart phones. It's not negotiable and they will not activate a smart phone without it. Of the phones you've listed, I like the Pearl but I'd be trying out the Motorola Droid before I made a final decision.
