i want a new mobile phone, a smartphone or touchscreen..is it best to buy before

xmas or after for best price? I dont want a contract, i want sim only...
im not too keen on the iphone...(so any other suggestions prefered)
my budget is about £150...
im with 02!
any suggestions of phones and if it would be best to buy now or after christmas
and any good sites you would suggest
