I am thinking of cancelling my old two phones and going to a a different carrier and buying one new phone. Not sure if I should buy a cheap one and just wait a little while before getting a much more expensive smartphone since I just heard a rumour. The network I want to go with is CDMA based right now but I heard a rumour that they just bought a huge amount of licences to expand their coverages and there is great speculation that they are going to transfer to a GSM network with some sort of overlay in the near future. If I got an expensive smartphone on the old network would the phone continue to work when they transferred over to the GSM network?
Note: I am in Canada and refuse to go with Rogers to get an iPhone and their ridiculously expensive monthly plans!! but want something that can surf the web while I'm out and about for a good rate and Bell is looking good to me with unlimited websurfing for $10/month.
Basically I dont text AT ALL!! and usually don't use a phone much for calls but still would like to have one for those times you want one and then would like to start using the phone to do things like comparison shop, look up addresses phone numbers, general info while I'm out and about and my husband is getting sick of my calling home and getting him to pop on the computer and get me info! lol
