G1:
With a plan contract, it's about $180. Without, it's $399 from T-Mobile, But you can buy it from Wal-Mart and some other retailers a bit cheaper. I paid $375 for mine at a Wal-Mart in Virginia.
T-Mobile is the provider in the US.
Pros: Internet (uses wi-fi as well as 3G/Edge networks), touch screen, full keyboard, great browser, GPS, uses open source Android Operating System, syncs up with Google mail, calendar, contacts, SMS, MMS, YouTube player, music player, uses MicroSDHC card for additional storage (up to 16GB), 3mp camera, USB charging and card access, USB adapter for standard headsets, Bluetooth
Cons: not a lot of apps in the Android market yet, though it's growing fast, some think the phone is a little bulky (I don't think it is), T-Mobile's 3G network isn't availbe everywhere yet (many large cities, most of the US by the spring).
