Thread: How do you use a mini handheld sewing machine?

I bought a mini handheld sewing machine on ebay just to try it out. I asked the seller if it came with directions but it didn't. It says ChangShan on the side of it. Has anyone used one of these before or know how to work it?

And does anyone know what that white thing is in the picture and what it is for? I think it's called a spool? The long cylinder looking thing. And also what is the other thing next to it called? The sliver thing. I know it's for threading the needle but I don't know what it's called?

Don't buy this, they stink, and don't work very well. Buy a cheap Singer or Bernina or White machine off of craigslist.org
