If by "iTunes music" you mean music bought through iTunes, I doubt your device will play protected content. If you mean unprotected music files, try dragging and dropping.

Find your music files (you can right click on a song in iTunes, select "Get Info", and it will tell you where on your computer that file is located). Copy the files, and drag the copies to the proper folders on your device. Page 78 in the User Manual tells you where:

"Your device searches for all music files that have the following audio formats: AMR-NB/WB (.awb), MP3 (.mp3), WMA (.wma), AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ (.aac), and MPEG-4 (.m4a). It searches for music from the following locations:
Device: \My Music (including all subfolders)
    \My Documents (including all subfolders)
Storage Card: \Storage Card (including all subfolders)"
