Is it considered nerdy to play handheld games?

Im a 17 year old guy that owns a DSi and PSP. Is me playing them considered nerdy and not cool?? Sometimes i feel like it but most times i dont really care. Lol but i just want an opinion on how it is perceived.

its fine if you dont do it at school and/or in public. whether you like it or not, people will consider you a nerd if you do it at school/public.

I dont think so im 17 as well and i have a Nintendo 3DSi and PSP as well i play it in school and outside. the main reason why they invented those handheld games is for people that arent home and cant play the big consoles like xbox and ps3 so if someone tells you it looks nerdy just tell them that your having fun and that they are talking about you and are jelous that they arent having as much fun.

Dude, everyone does it nowadays, so it's not a big deal. Hell, a lot of people older than you bought Gameboys way back in 1989 so that they could play Tetris, so if it was acceptable back then, it's certainly acceptable now.

Hell no! I'm near your age, and I still occasionally take out my old Gameboy Advance SP and play Zelda: Minish Cap. I don't necessarily take it out in public, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying great titles on handhelds.
