16hr charge for HTC touch - li-ion battery?

do i really have to charge it that long, i have read that you dont have to with the lithium batteries due to the cells not having a memory for charge...

anyone?

No, overcharging can kill the total battery life. A maximum charge of 3-4 hours is more than enough.
