My boyfriend doesn't mind PDA, but I hate it?

Ok so I've been dating this guy for a while and he just recently asked me if i wanted to be his girlfriend. I know he's really into me and he says he loves me and wants to be with me for forever, and I love him too. But theres just one thing. He loves to makeout all the time no matter where we are or whos watching. He says things like im just proud to have you as my gf and i dont care who see's. But some of my freinds feel uncomfortable when he does this, and I do too. He also always grabs my butt and boobs in public. I know I turn him on , and love kissing him and stuff i just feel like it should be left for when we're alone. How should I tell him ? Or should I just be happy he's so affectionate ? Because he really is the best boyfriend a girl could want. Helpp!
